IndiaKNOW BEFORE YOU GO
India
Language: The official language in India is Hindi. English is also an official language and you will find in larger cities that many know how to speak it.
Plugs: The plugs in India are type C, D, and M. Type C is the plug that has two round parallel pins, type D has three round triangular pins, and type M also has three rectangular pins in a triangular pattern, but are larger than type D.
Currency: Indian Rupee. The abbreviation is INR. For a quick conversion check, my go to’s are Google and XE Currency Converter. XE also has a great app.
Cash or Card?: Cards are accepted at restaurants, hotels, and larger shops. Smaller shops may prefer to use cash. To be safe for every day purchases, I would expect to use mainly cash.
Best Time To Visit: The best time to visit is from November to March. The temperature is comfortable and dry. During the summer the country gets very hot.
How Long Should I Go For?: This would depend on what your goals for the trip are since this is a very large county. If you are planning on visiting the popular Golden Triangle, I would plan 7 to 9 days. Need help planning your next trip? Check out some of my guides here and the bucket list here!
What To Bring: Depends on when you go! India gets very hot in the summer, and during the winter can be cold. Check out some of my essentials here.
