Plan 3–4 days for a first visit. Add another day if you want more time for neighborhoods, museums, gardens, or a visit to Sentosa Island.

Singapore is hot and humid throughout the year. February through April is often somewhat drier, but brief tropical rain showers are possible during any season.

Cards and contactless payments are widely accepted. Keep a small amount of Singapore cash for hawker stalls and occasional small businesses that do not accept international cards.

The MRT and bus system is clean, efficient, and easy to use. Most central attractions are also within manageable walking distance of a station.

Bring lightweight, breathable clothing, comfortable shoes, sun protection, and a small umbrella. A light sweater is useful for heavily air-conditioned buildings.
