Language: The official language is Hungarian.

Plugs: The plugs in Hungary are type C and F. Type C has two round pins, and type F has two round pins with earth clips on the side.

Currency: Forint. The abbreviation is FT. For a quick conversion check, my go to’s are Google and XE Currency Converter. XE also has a great app.

Cash or Card?: Cards are now widely used in Hungary. Most places you go will take cards. Of course, it is always a good idea to keep some cash on hand for smaller purchases.

Best Time To Visit: April to May and September to October are ideal times to visit for the perfect balance of good weather and fewer crowds.

What to Bring: If you visit during the shoulder season, you will find a little chilly, but great weather. Winter is cold and can be snowy, so make sure to prepare. Summer tends to be hot and humid, but it can be cooler in the evenings. Check out some of my essentials here.
