Plan 3–4 days for Copenhagen. With 5–7 days, you can add day trips, Aarhus, Odense, or part of the Danish coast.

May through September offers the mildest weather and longest daylight hours. Summer is the busiest season, while spring and early autumn are quieter. Winter is cold and dark but atmospheric around the holidays.

Denmark is largely cashless, and cards and contactless payments are accepted almost everywhere. You will probably need little or no cash.

Copenhagen is easy to explore by metro, train, bus, bicycle, and on foot. Trains connect the major cities, so a rental car is only helpful for more remote coastal and rural areas.

Bring layers, comfortable shoes, and a windproof rain jacket. Even during summer, evenings can be cool and breezy.
